    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Peggy Cassel for her selection as the 1993 Woman of
    1-4  the Year by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A humanitarian and community leader, Peggy Cassel
    1-6  has devoted time and energy to organizing numerous programs that
    1-7  benefit Madisonville citizens and has spent countless hours as a
    1-8  volunteer in various associations; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, She has served on the board of directors of the
   1-10  chamber of commerce, served on several chamber committees including
   1-11  the Christmas Parade and Woodbine Hotel Steering committees, and
   1-12  served with the Madison County Fair Association; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, She has served on the Madisonville Sidewalk
   1-14  Cattlemen's Association Parade committee for six years and was
   1-15  a worker in the Madisonville Service League that was formed for
   1-16  the beautification of the Downtown Square; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, An exceptionally talented individual with many
   1-18  interests, Mrs. Cassel is an effective and dedicated worker whose
   1-19  concern for others is legendary; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Peggy Cassel is a woman of wisdom, integrity, and
   1-21  uncommon selflessness whose contributions to her community and
   1-22  the State of Texas have made her truly a treasured citizen; now,
   1-23  therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Peggy Cassel for her many
    2-3  accomplishments and her dedication to her work and to helping
    2-4  others; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-6  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
