    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Andrew Jackson McCain
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Banquete community lost one of its most
    1-6  distinguished citizens with the death of Andrew Jackson McCain
    1-7  on March 24, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A resident of the community since 1924, Mr. McCain
    1-9  was respected for his outstanding personal characteristics; a man
   1-10  whose word was his bond, Mr. McCain had an unerring sense of right
   1-11  and wrong; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, As justice of the peace for Nueces County
   1-13  Precinct 4 from 1966 until 1978, Mr. McCain strove successfully
   1-14  to ensure harmony and cooperation among area residents; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A former member of the Banquete School Board,
   1-16  Mr. McCain labored tirelessly so that the children of his
   1-17  community would receive the best education possible; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Always working for the betterment of others,
   1-19  Mr. McCain was a valuable member of the Banquete Lions Club and
   1-20  Robstown Lodge Number 1062, AF & AM; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father, Mr. McCain cherished
   1-22  the time he spent with his beloved wife and two children; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Mr. McCain was a gentleman in the truest sense
    2-1  of the word, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts and
    2-2  minds of all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-5  members of his family:  his wife, Perle; his son, Billy McCain;
    2-6  his daughter, Ruth Breeding; his sisters, Ella Davis and
    2-7  Katherine Sawyer; and his four grandchildren and four
    2-8  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-10  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-11  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
   2-12  day, it do so in memory of Andrew Jackson McCain.
