    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Protecting life and ensuring safety are important
    1-3  responsibilities of local governments and are duties performed daily
    1-4  by dedicated public servants; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The individuals who hold these jobs and contribute
    1-6  to the health and safety of all Americans are the unsung heroes of
    1-7  our day; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The Centerville Emergency Medical Service has
    1-9  recently been honored by the Greater Centerville Area Chamber of
   1-10  Commerce at the Annual Awards Banquet as winner of the Community
   1-11  Service Award; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Essential to a community's well-being is the
   1-13  ability of its citizens to summon help quickly when faced with
   1-14  emergencies; this problem has been addressed by implementation of
   1-15  an emergency medical service system; it provides rapid response
   1-16  capabilities for persons seeking medical, rescue, fire, and other
   1-17  emergency services; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Since its inception, this superb program has
   1-19  faithfully served the community; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The technicians' professionalism and skill in
   1-21  handling emergency situations have earned them a respected place
   1-22  in the town's annals; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  73rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Centerville's Emergency
    2-2  Medical Services personnel for winning the Community Service Award;
    2-3  and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-5  the Emergency Medical Services personnel as an expression of
    2-6  esteem from the Texas Senate.
