No. 858 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in 1-3 congratulating the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department for being 1-4 named Somerville Citizen of the Year recently; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The outstanding fire department was recognized 1-6 by the Somerville Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet and 1-7 received a plaque in appreciation of the fire fighters' efforts 1-8 in protecting the welfare of the citizens of Somerville; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Their meritorious work and exemplary devotion to 1-10 their community have earned the admiration and gratitude of the 1-11 residents of the city; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The men and women who volunteer their services to 1-13 the Somerville Fire Department have handled their responsibilities 1-14 with efficiency and skill while risking their lives to ensure the 1-15 safety of the community; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Highly trained and capable, these professional 1-17 public servants have completed many hours of basic training and 1-18 continue to train to better serve their city; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 73rd Legislature, hereby commend the Somerville Volunteer Fire 1-21 Department for receiving the 1992 Citizen of the Year Award; and, 1-22 be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-1 the members as an expression of the admiration and high regard 2-2 of the Texas Senate. 2-3 _____________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the 2-6 above Resolution was adopted by 2-7 the Senate on May 5, 1993. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
