    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas proudly recognizes
    1-3  the class of 1943 of Waco High School in Waco, Texas; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The members of the class of 1943 are celebrating
    1-5  the 50th anniversary of their graduation with a reunion on the
    1-6  weekend of May 21 through 23, 1993; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Representing the transitional generation from
    1-8  prewar to postwar America, the members of the class of 1943 will
    1-9  be commemorating the years they spent together before World War II
   1-10  and their final high school months together after the attack on
   1-11  Pearl Harbor; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, This reunion is an opportunity for the class
   1-13  members to reminisce about the many high school adventures they
   1-14  shared growing up in north central Texas and the reunion activities
   1-15  of years past; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The classmates of 1943 were fortunate to grow up
   1-17  in a grass-roots America, and the values they developed early in
   1-18  their lives, which emphasized patriotism, faith in God, and love
   1-19  of family, have no doubt been a source of strength to each of them
   1-20  in their personal and professional endeavors; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, In gathering together to celebrate their
   1-22  50th reunion, the members of the class of 1943 are expressing their
   1-23  longtime commitment to tradition, unity, and loyal friendship; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, The students of the class of 1943 became leaders
    2-2  and productive members of their communities, and they deserve to
    2-3  be proud of their many successful endeavors; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby commend the members of the class
    2-6  of 1943 for their innumerable accomplishments and extend best
    2-7  wishes for a joyful and rewarding 50th reunion; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them
    2-9  as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
