No. 896 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, on April 3, 1943, 1-3 Mr. and Mrs. John Adams of Bridgeport placed great faith and 1-4 trust in the future and they have been amply rewarded as they 1-5 recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably throughout 1-7 their marriage yet Nelda and John have steadfastly embraced 1-8 traditional family and moral values; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, the beloved couple has grown 1-10 stronger in their love and devotion as together they have 1-11 experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. Adams is a member 1-13 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Mrs. Adams is active 1-14 in the Ladies Auxiliary; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams have been blessed with 1-16 a wonderful family: their children, Karen and Roger Sharp, 1-17 Beverley and Larry Potts, and Nancy and Gary McCully; and their 1-18 nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams shared their happiness 1-20 with their family and friends at a family dinner hosted by 1-21 their children on April 3, 1993, at the Lions Club building; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 2-2 Mr. and Mrs. John Adams on their golden wedding anniversary; 2-3 and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-5 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 2-6 their lives. 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the 2-10 above Resolution was adopted by 2-11 the Senate on May 10, 1993. 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
