    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, It is with considerable pleasure that
    1-3  the Senate of the State of Texas welcomes Rosalba Ojeda,
    1-4  Director General for North American Affairs in Mexico's Ministry
    1-5  of Foreign Relations; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This distinguished visitor to the Texas Senate
    1-7  will be in Austin May 9 and 10, 1993, to discuss the increasing
    1-8  trade between Mexico, the United States, and Canada as a result
    1-9  of the trilateral Free Trade Agreement; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Mrs. Ojeda's visit will serve as a beginning for the
   1-11  study of cultural differences between Texas and Mexico so the two
   1-12  neighbors can learn more about each other's social, political, and
   1-13  administrative structures and how each conducts business; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The future of Texas-Mexico relations is based on
   1-15  the new role of the two countries and the actions that can be
   1-16  undertaken to promote greater cultural understanding between our
   1-17  societies in order to assure a relationship based on cooperation
   1-18  and mutual respect; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, It is indeed a privilege and a genuine delight
   1-20  to welcome such a notable individual as Rosalba Ojeda to the
   1-21  State of Texas and the Capital City; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-23  73rd Legislature, hereby recognize Rosalba Ojeda and extend
    2-1  an official welcome to this esteemed woman with sincere wishes
    2-2  that she have an enjoyable and successful visit; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-4  Mrs. Ojeda as an expression of admiration and respect from the
    2-5  Texas Senate.
