    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
    1-3  pride in recognizing the Pflugerville Lady Panthers Basketball Team
    1-4  for being District 14-5A champions with a 32-0 record; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This remarkable feat was accomplished by the
    1-6  Lady Panthers even though the team was considered undersized; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Displaying athletic prowess, keen self-discipline,
    1-8  and good sportsmanship were team members Ali Bowman, Kelly Simmons,
    1-9  April Ellickson, Jill Moffitt, Ty Fontenette, Angie Soldinger,
   1-10  Jami Peterson, Erika Verette, Kim Johnson, Reese Bradley,
   1-11  Frauke Bollhorst, Kristin Polansky, and Vannah Francisco and
   1-12  managers Lana Klein, Skye Johnson, and Nikki Duffie; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The members of the Pflugerville Lady Panthers
   1-14  Basketball Team can justifiably consider themselves one of the best
   1-15  high school basketball teams in the country; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Besides providing the winning strategy, coach
   1-17  Nancy Walling and assistant coach Sharryl Hauglum were invaluable
   1-18  sources of inspiration to these young athletes; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Only the most talented, disciplined, and
   1-20  practiced players, with devoted coaches, are able to win a district
   1-21  championship; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The players, managers, and coaches are to be praised
   1-23  for their teamwork and quest for excellence; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby honor the Pflugerville Lady Panthers
    2-3  Basketball Team on its outstanding season record and for winning
    2-4  its district championship; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-6  the Lady Panthers as an expression of congratulations from the
    2-7  Texas Senate.
