    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride
    1-3  in recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Harold Carter of Austin on the grand
    1-4  occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, On May 16, 1953, Harold Gene and Jimmie Mae Carter
    1-6  placed their faith and trust in one another and committed to a future
    1-7  of mutual respect and shared happiness; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during the intervening
    1-9  years, yet Mr. and Mrs. Carter have continued to believe steadfastly
   1-10  in traditional family values; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Carter have grown ever
   1-12  stronger in love and devotion as together they have experienced the
   1-13  joys and sorrows of everyday life; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carter have been blessed with a wonderful
   1-15  family:  their children, John Allen, Sharon Kay, Wanda Fay, and
   1-16  Harold Gene, Jr.; and their grandchildren, Dewarn, Dionne,
   1-17  Gilbert III, and Charse; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carter are exemplary parents and their
   1-19  children are leading successful and productive lives; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Devout Christians, both Mr. and Mrs. Carter are
   1-21  active members of New Lincoln Baptist Missionary Church in Austin,
   1-22  where Harold serves as a deacon; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
    2-2  Mr. and Mrs. Harold Carter on the momentous occasion of their
    2-3  40th wedding anniversary; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-5  Mr. and Mrs. Carter as a memento of this glorious day in their lives.
