    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Lee Harrison Price
    1-5        WHEREAS, The City of Clute lost one of its most esteemed
    1-6  citizens with the death of former mayor and fire chief
    1-7  Lee Harrison Price on April 26, 1993, at the age of 85; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The many important contributions of this
    1-9  distinguished gentleman contributed to the development and progress
   1-10  of the city; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, An engineer and welding inspector for Dow Chemical
   1-12  Company where he made many lasting friends, Mr. Price earned the
   1-13  admiration and respect of those who worked with him; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Known as a straightforward and honest individual,
   1-15  he was a plainspoken man with a delightful sense of humor who cared
   1-16  deeply about his community; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Mr. Price was a lifetime member of the Clute Fire
   1-18  Department and served with distinction as fire chief for 26 years;
   1-19  and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A man of strong convictions, Mr. Price was diligent
   1-21  in the performance of his duties as mayor and served the people of
   1-22  Clute with unfailing devotion; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, He took an active interest in various
    2-1  organizations and was a member of Masonic Lodge Number 1334 and
    2-2  the Emmanuel Baptist Church; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, A skilled fisherman who loved to fish along the
    2-4  Texas coast and in the area bays, Lee Price shared his knowledge with
    2-5  other family members and entertained listeners with his fish stories;
    2-6  now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-9  of Lee Harrison Price:  his daughter, Billie Jo Runnels and her
   2-10  husband, Bruce; his sister, Cora Nell Prather; and his grandchildren
   2-11  and great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-13  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-14  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
   2-15  memory of Lee Harrison Price.
