    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ames of
    1-3  Granbury placed much faith and trust in the future which have
    1-4  been amply rewarded for they recently celebrated their 50th
    1-5  wedding anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Harold Weldon and Vernon Geneva Ames were married
    1-7  on May 7, 1943, in Rockwall; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during the
    1-9  intervening years, yet Mr. and Mrs. Ames have clung steadfastly
   1-10  to traditional family and moral values; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ames have been blessed with a
   1-12  wonderful family:  their three children, Harold Weldon Ames, Jr.,
   1-13  Dan Ames, and Fred Lee Ames; and their 11 grandchildren and two
   1-14  great-grandchildren; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Ames have grown
   1-16  ever stronger in love and devotion as together they have
   1-17  experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The love and respect they share are shining
   1-19  examples to all who are fortunate enough to know them; now,
   1-20  therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  73rd Legislature, hereby join with the relatives and friends of
   1-23  Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ames in extending them best wishes and
    2-1  congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it
    2-2  further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-4  this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
