    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is
    1-3  proud to recognize Marnie Saylor Paul who is graduating from the
    1-4  Austin Independent School District on May 27, 1993; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A high school student who has attended programs
    1-6  for the multihandicapped for 15 years, Marnie has been a student in
    1-7  Rosedale's Functional Skills Program since 1984; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, At Rosedale, she has received educational training
    1-9  that has focused on the areas of domestic skills, social skills,
   1-10  vocational training, and communication; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Eager to learn and hardworking, Marnie has
   1-12  participated in cooking classes, computer classes, and shopping
   1-13  expeditions; she has learned to ride the city buses and to
   1-14  participate with assistance at her work training sites; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Her work experience has included positions with
   1-16  Golfsmith International, the Texas Senate, and the Texas Department
   1-17  of Health; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, She has served as a Senate messenger for two years,
   1-19  a position in which she has made new friends and improved her social
   1-20  and communicative skills; she plans to continue with her work as a
   1-21  Senate messenger after graduation; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, In completing the requirements for her graduation,
   1-23  Marnie has displayed admirable perseverance and is now better
    2-1  prepared to work and enjoy life in her community; now, therefore,
    2-2  be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Marnie Saylor Paul for her many
    2-5  accomplishments and extend congratulations to her on the occasion of
    2-6  her graduation; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
