    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Rod Chalmers, a law enforcement training officer with
    1-4  the Texas Game Warden Training Academy, who recently earned an
    1-5  award for exemplary volunteer leadership in 4-H wildlife and
    1-6  fisheries programs; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Mr. Chalmers received the award at the 58th
    1-8  North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference where
    1-9  he was recognized for his admirable efforts to educate youths
   1-10  in the area of natural resource conservation; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A volunteer leader for eight years with the
   1-12  Crockett County Shooting Sports and Field and Stream programs,
   1-13  Mr. Chalmers has developed creative means to educate the young
   1-14  people of his community; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Devoted to his profession and to his community,
   1-16  Mr. Chalmers has served as an instructor of adult leader training
   1-17  sessions at 4-H Field and Stream workshops of the Texas Agricultural
   1-18  Extension Service; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, An expert on conservation, Mr. Chalmers has had an
   1-20  exceptional career in the field of natural resource protection that
   1-21  has included serving as a game warden for 13 years for the
   1-22  State of Texas; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, A representative for the Texas Parks and Wildlife
    2-1  Department on the state planning team for the 4-H Field and Stream
    2-2  Program, Mr. Chalmers has provided insight and wise counsel in the
    2-3  areas of hunting, fishing, and species conservation; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Named Conservation Officer of the Year by the
    2-5  Sportsmen Conservationists of Texas, he is recognized by people
    2-6  across the state as an authority in the field of natural resource
    2-7  conservation, and his generous endeavors to share his knowledge
    2-8  with the youths of Texas will be invaluable to the future welfare
    2-9  of our state; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Rod Chalmers for his hard work
   2-12  and his commitment to environmental stewardship and extend
   2-13  congratulations to him on his recent award; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-15  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
