    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Suzanne Whitney who is retiring from the Center
    1-4  Independent School District after 14 years of notable service;
    1-5  and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The children of Center will miss the wisdom and
    1-7  experience of the esteemed educator who has earned their friendship
    1-8  and respect; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, With firmness, fairness, and love, Suzanne Whitney
   1-10  encouraged these young people to pursue excellence by developing
   1-11  their natural talents and abilities; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A positive influence in the lives of her students,
   1-13  she has offered encouragement and support while instilling in them
   1-14  strong values and a love of learning; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The tireless efforts of this beloved educator on
   1-16  behalf of the schoolchildren of Texas will continue to bear fruit
   1-17  in the years to come; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, For her devotion to her profession throughout her
   1-19  33-year career, Suzanne Whitney has received awards of appreciation
   1-20  from various organizations including the Association of Retarded
   1-21  Citizens, the Texas Association of Vocational Adjustment
   1-22  Coordinators, and the East Texas Vocational Adjustment Coordination
   1-23  Association; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Suzanne Whitney has served as treasurer of the
    2-2  Association of Texas Professional Educators since it was established
    2-3  in the Center Independent School District and she has freely given
    2-4  of herself to the benefit of others; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Suzanne Whitney for her superb
    2-7  contributions to the educational system of Center and the
    2-8  State of Texas and extend best wishes to her for a rich and
    2-9  rewarding retirement; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-11  her as an expression of appreciation from the Texas Senate.
