    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Daniel C. Montoya on the occasion of his graduation
    1-4  from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at
    1-5  The University of Texas; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A native of El Paso, Texas, Daniel Montoya is a
    1-7  talented student who received his undergraduate degree from
    1-8  The University of Texas at Austin; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Having successfully completed his courses at the
   1-10  Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs, Mr. Montoya is
   1-11  graduating on May 22, 1993, with a master's degree in public
   1-12  affairs; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Exceptionally knowledgeable about current
   1-14  environmental issues in our state, Mr. Montoya has served as
   1-15  a special assistant to Garry Mauro, Texas Land Commissioner,
   1-16  since 1988; he has worked primarily on the promotion of clean
   1-17  air and the use of alternative fuels; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A leader in his community, he has served as
   1-19  chairman of the board for the HIV Wellness Center and as community
   1-20  leader at The University of Texas Catholic Center; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Mr. Montoya is an exemplary gentleman who
   1-22  establishes his goals and pursues them with perseverance and
   1-23  clear-sightedness; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Daniel Montoya's notable accomplishments are
    2-2  evidence of his hard work and outstanding abilities, and he
    2-3  is a source of much pride to his family and his community;
    2-4  now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Daniel Montoya for earning a
    2-7  master's degree in public affairs from the Lyndon Baines Johnson
    2-8  School of Public Affairs and extend to him best wishes for the
    2-9  years ahead; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-11  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
