    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
    1-3  recognizing Joe E. Hodge, a longtime resident of Deer Park, on
    1-4  the occasion of his promotion to the position of senior
    1-5  vice-president of the Lubrizol Corporation Houston Plants; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Joe Hodge began his exceptional career with
    1-7  Lubrizol in 1959 as a part-time employee while attending
    1-8  Deer Park High School; he continued working at Lubrizol while
    1-9  attending the University of Houston where he received his
   1-10  bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1971; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, After receiving his degree, Mr. Hodge was hired
   1-12  as an engineer on a full-time basis, and in 1987, he became
   1-13  General Manager of the Lubrizol Corporation Houston Plants; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. Hodge's history with Lubrizol also includes
   1-15  serving as Manufacturing Zone Manager for Lubrizol's
   1-16  Southeast-Pacific Region and serving in various assignments at
   1-17  the Deer Park, Bayport, and Port Arthur plants; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A talented administrator and a leader in
   1-19  numerous professional and civic associations, Joe Hodge is the
   1-20  Advisory Trustee for the International Management Council, an
   1-21  industrial co-sponsor of the Deer Park Community Advisory Council,
   1-22  and a member of the Citizens Advisory Council for the Deer Park
   1-23  Independent School District; he is a director for the Texas
    2-1  Chemical Council, East Harris County Manufacturers Association,
    2-2  and Houston Regional Monitoring; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Mr. Hodge is a distinguished and exemplary
    2-4  gentleman who is respected by his colleagues and by the community
    2-5  for his hard work, perseverance, and superior leadership; now,
    2-6  therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Joe Hodge for his notable
    2-9  accomplishments and extend sincere congratulations to him on
   2-10  his appointment to the position of senior vice-president; and,
   2-11  be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-13  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
