    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Frances Landry for her 27 years of loyal service as
    1-4  an employee of Williamson County; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Frances Landry began her exceptional career in
    1-6  1966 when she became a secretary for County Judge Sam Stone, a
    1-7  position she would hold for the next 17 years; she joined the
    1-8  district clerk's office in 1983; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, As a Deputy District Clerk, Frances Landry witnessed
   1-10  the careers of lawyers and politicians unfold, as well as the careers
   1-11  of criminals; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Since she began her career in public service, she
   1-13  has seen new county buildings constructed, two new district courts
   1-14  started, two county courts added, offices computerized, and civil
   1-15  and criminal caseloads increased significantly; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Devoted to the Williamson County community and to
   1-17  her profession, Mrs. Landry used her superior organizational and
   1-18  administrative skills to manage successfully the detailed work that
   1-19  a county clerk's position entails; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, During her courthouse career, she witnessed numerous
   1-21  precedent-setting cases, and she was serving as a court clerk when,
   1-22  for the first time in the county, juveniles were tried as adults; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The Williamson County community has greatly
    2-1  benefitted from the dedication and generous spirit of this talented
    2-2  public servant, and her presence at the Williamson County Courthouse
    2-3  will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Frances Landry for her invaluable
    2-6  contributions to Williamson County and extend to her best wishes for
    2-7  the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-9  Frances Landry as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
