    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Roland Richard Kautz
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of Roland Richard Kautz of Taylor, Texas,
    1-6  on April 16, 1993, at the age of 78, was deeply mourned by the
    1-7  residents of the city; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community,
    1-9  Mr. Kautz will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his
   1-10  friends, his church, and the citizens of Taylor; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Born in the Noack community on June 17, 1914, to
   1-12  Emil J. and Augusta Meiske Kautz, Roland Kautz was a retired farmer
   1-13  and had lived in the Taylor area all of his life; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, He married Ella Nora Zimmerman on November 10, 1936,
   1-15  and the devoted couple provided a loving home for their children,
   1-16  Yvonne and Wallace; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Actively involved in the civic life of Taylor,
   1-18  Mr. Kautz was a member of SPJST and the Sons of Hermann Lodges
   1-19  and the Taylor Dance Club; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A devout Christian gentleman, he was a lifetime
   1-21  member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church where he served as a vestryman
   1-22  and was a member of the building committee; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-1  that will remain cherished by those who lived and worked with him;
    2-2  now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
    2-5  of his family:  his wife, Ella Nora; his daughter and son-in-law,
    2-6  Yvonne and Jerry Graham; his son and daughter-in-law, Wallace G.
    2-7  and Joan Kautz; his sisters, Evelyn Birkelbach and Leona Miertschin;
    2-8  his brother, Gilbert Kautz; and his six grandchildren and two
    2-9  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-11  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-12  the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
   2-13  so in memory of Roland Richard Kautz.
