No. 996 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Lieutenant Miguel Orozco, who recently retired from 1-4 the Bryan Police Department, for his honorable service in the 1-5 field of law enforcement; and 1-6 WHEREAS, With the Bryan Police Department for 33 years, 1-7 Miguel Orozco has served in the department longer than any other 1-8 officer; and 1-9 WHEREAS, He began his exceptional career in 1960, shortly 1-10 after finishing barbering school, and served as a patrol officer 1-11 throughout the entire 33 years; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Lieutenant Orozco was one of the best-known and 1-13 most respected officers in the City of Bryan; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Beloved by his colleagues and by Bryan citizens, 1-15 Miguel Orozco loved his work and was committed to helping his 1-16 fellowman; and 1-17 WHEREAS, He became one of Bryan's finest officers and was 1-18 considered an institution in the department; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Miguel Orozco was an outstanding police officer 1-20 whose superior performance and allegiance to duty is legendary; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he displayed expertise 1-22 and reliable judgment in dealing with the unique challenges of 1-23 law enforcement duty, and his contributions to the people of Bryan 2-1 and the surrounding community have been innumerable; now, therefore, 2-2 be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Lieutenant Miguel Orozco on 2-5 his distinguished service in law enforcement and extend best wishes 2-6 to him for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-8 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the 2-12 above Resolution was adopted by 2-13 the Senate on May 20, 1993. 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
