No. 1007 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Colonel Terry Oliver Bliquez who is retiring from the 1-4 United States Air Force after a distinguished career spanning 1-5 26 years; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The respected officer has set a high standard of 1-7 professionalism, inspiring others by his loyalty, dependability, 1-8 and exemplary conduct; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The son of Norma and Ralph Bliquez, Terry has 1-10 two brothers, Ralph and Larry, with whom he shares strong family 1-11 ties; and 1-12 WHEREAS, He is married to the former Kathy Danahy and 1-13 the devoted parents have provided a loving home life for their 1-14 two daughters, Kimberley Terese and Elizabeth Michelle Bliquez; 1-15 Colonel Bliquez has been a wonderful role model for his daughters 1-16 who hold him in high esteem; and 1-17 WHEREAS, His daughters share happy memories of their father 1-18 as children when they tagged along with him on weekends to various 1-19 places; they compare their father with the boys they date and, so 1-20 far, none measures up to him; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Colonel Bliquez loves to fly and during his career 1-22 in the air force he has been fortunate to live in many diverse 1-23 places including Hawaii, California, North Dakota, and Texas; and 2-1 WHEREAS, He also dearly loves to play golf--so much so that 2-2 he recently bought a house on a golf course so he can play whenever 2-3 he has an opportunity; and 2-4 WHEREAS, A dedicated and capable individual, Colonel Bliquez 2-5 has accomplished everything he set out to do in his life and has 2-6 served as an inspiration to his daughters who are understandably 2-7 proud of his achievements; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Colonel Terry Oliver Bliquez 2-10 for his notable contributions to his country as a member of the 2-11 United States Air Force and extend best wishes to him for a most 2-12 rewarding and enjoyable retirement; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-14 as an expression of the appreciation of the Texas Senate. 2-15 _____________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the 2-18 above Resolution was adopted by 2-19 the Senate on May 21, 1993. 2-20 _____________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 _____________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
