    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Sam Grady Wynn
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of Sam Grady Wynn, well-known
    1-6  rancher in Tehuacana and longtime resident of University Park in
    1-7  Dallas, Texas, who passed away on April 19, 1993, at the age of 85,
    1-8  was deeply mourned by citizens throughout the state; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mr. Wynn made many important contributions to his
   1-10  country during his 33 years of distinguished service with the
   1-11  United States government; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A materials expert, he was Regional Director and
   1-13  National Program Director of the Surplus Property Administration
   1-14  under the former Department of Health, Education and Welfare; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, From 1945 to 1950 he served with distinction as a
   1-16  member of the Tri-Partite Committee for the United States Military
   1-17  Government in the City of Berlin following World War II; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Born on March 2, 1908, in Denton, Texas, Mr. Wynn
   1-19  was one of 12 children born to Martha Grady and Thomas Douglas Wynn;
   1-20  he married Marjorie Reese on August 12, 1929, and the couple managed
   1-21  the Valle Alegre Ranch in Tehuacana; the homestead lands have been in
   1-22  the Reese family for 119 years; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, A member of University Park Methodist Church
    2-1  in Dallas and the Tehuacana United Methodist Church, Mr. Wynn was
    2-2  also active in the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Mr. Wynn was a respected and great-hearted gentleman
    2-4  who was devoted to his family, his church, and his country; he will
    2-5  be remembered for his exemplary life in devoted service to helping
    2-6  his fellowman; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-9  of Sam Grady Wynn:  his wife, Marjorie; his sons, Sam Wynn, Jr.,
   2-10  John Thomas Wynn, and William Reese Wynn; and his eight grandchildren
   2-11  and five great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-13  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-14  the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-15  in memory of Sam Grady Wynn.
