    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The retirement of Alma Jean Haynes on May 28, 1993,
    1-3  will bring to a close a career marked by exceptional service to the
    1-4  Brazosport Independent School District; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The respected personnel specialist set a
    1-6  high standard of professionalism, inspiring others by her
    1-7  loyalty, dependability, and dedication; Alma Haynes has served
    1-8  with distinction and integrity and will continue to be an example
    1-9  for those who follow; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Mrs. Haynes began her long association with the
   1-11  school district in September, 1947, when she became secretary to
   1-12  Principal W. L. Stuart at Freeport Junior High School; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, From May, 1949, until October, 1958, she worked
   1-14  for the Brazosport Teachers Credit Union where she handled her
   1-15  responsibilities with efficiency and dedication; she ably served
   1-16  as chairman of the credit committee in 1990; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Alma was born in Houston, Texas, and lived in
   1-18  Hinkle's Ferry until she was 14 years old, when she moved to
   1-19  Freeport where she has continued to reside in the same house; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A graduate of Freeport High School, she earned
   1-21  a bachelor of science degree from the University of Houston at
   1-22  Clear Lake; her devotion to her family inspired her to send her
   1-23  brothers, Dr. Thomas V. Hinkle and Dr. James D. Hinkle, through
    2-1  medical school; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Haynes enjoys
    2-3  spending time with her daughter, Sandra, and her grandchildren,
    2-4  William and Donna; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby recognize and commend Alma Jean Haynes
    2-7  for her 45 years of outstanding public service; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-9  Mrs. Haynes as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate
   2-10  with best wishes for a most enjoyable and rewarding retirement.
