    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Ingrid M. Williams, a junior at the
    1-3  University of Houston majoring in political science,
    1-4  has served with distinction as an intern in the office of
    1-5  Representative Henry Cuellar for the 73rd Legislative Session
    1-6  in Senator Rodney Ellis's internship program; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, She has had the unique opportunity to interact with
    1-8  members of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches while
    1-9  gaining practical work experience in the political environment; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The Rodney Ellis Professional Internship Program
   1-11  for minority students combines academic study with experimental
   1-12  learning for undergraduate and graduate students interested in
   1-13  the political process; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The internship is for one academic semester in
   1-15  Austin where students are placed as assistants in the offices of
   1-16  ranking members of the legislature or in state agencies; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, An asset in an active office environment,
   1-18  Ingrid has developed strong interpersonal, organizational, and
   1-19  communication skills and is known for her ability to work with
   1-20  culturally diverse individuals; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Her versatile experience includes working for
   1-22  Free Man Productions of Atlanta, Georgia, and managing Houston's
   1-23  Greek Step Show once a year; she is a substitute teacher in the
    2-1  North Forest Independent School District and has worked for the
    2-2  State Department of Public Transportation; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize
    2-4  Ingrid M. Williams for her outstanding work as an intern in
    2-5  the office of Representative Henry Cuellar; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Ingrid M. Williams for her
    2-8  important contributions to the State of Texas and extend best
    2-9  wishes to her for success in her future endeavors; and, be it
   2-10  further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  Ingrid as an expression of the esteem of the Texas Senate.
