    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
    1-3  to commend Patricia Montemayor for her participation in the
    1-4  Rodney Ellis Professional Internship Program; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The program, sponsored by the Mickey Leland Center,
    1-6  was established in 1990 to provide opportunities for minority
    1-7  students to serve as interns in the Texas Legislature and various
    1-8  state agencies; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Twelve interns were selected from universities
   1-10  throughout Texas for this excellent program; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Miss Montemayor had the unique opportunity to
   1-12  interact with members of the executive, legislative, and judicial
   1-13  branches while gaining practical work experience in a political
   1-14  environment; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The Rodney Ellis Professional Internship Program
   1-16  for minority students combines academic study with experimental
   1-17  learning for undergraduate and graduate students interested in
   1-18  the political process; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The internship is for one academic semester in
   1-20  Austin; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Patricia is hardworking, tenacious, loyal, and
   1-22  dedicated to excellence; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize
    2-1  Patricia Montemayor for her exceptional work as an intern in
    2-2  the office of Representative Diana Davila; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Patricia Montemayor for her
    2-5  invaluable contributions to the State of Texas and extend best
    2-6  wishes for success in her future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as a memento of this special time in her life.
