By: Moncrief S.R. No. 1040 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Michael W. Maltby, an outstanding young citizen of 1-4 Fort Worth, Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mike has been a resident of Fort Worth since 1-6 1985 and is 18 years old; his parents are both leaders in the 1-7 Cub Scouts and he is an Assistant Leader for Pack 561 and 1-8 Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 412; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mike began his scouting career with Pack 21 of the 1-10 Arrowhead District, Daniel Webster Council, Hudson, New Hampshire, 1-11 in 1983; after moving to Fort Worth, Mike joined Pack 549 where he 1-12 earned his Arrow of Light; and 1-13 WHEREAS, He joined Troop 412 after earning the Arrow of 1-14 Light and has served as Patrol Leader and Troop Guide; he is a 1-15 Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, Nishkia Halupa A Pe 1-16 Lachi Lodge; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A senior at Crowley High School, Mike is enrolled 1-18 in honors classes and is a member of the Mighty Eagle Band and 1-19 the debate team; and 1-20 WHEREAS, He is dedicated to scouting and plans to continue 1-21 serving as an active leader in a scouting program while in college; 1-22 and 1-23 WHEREAS, An exemplary young man, Mike is a source of pride 2-1 to his family and school, and his worthy accomplishments reflect his 2-2 strong moral principles and his commitment to others and to his 2-3 community; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Mike Maltby on his exceptional 2-6 achievements in school and in scouting; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-8 him as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate. 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the 2-12 above Resolution was adopted by 2-13 the Senate on May 25, 1993. 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
