    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
    1-3  recognizing Stefani Chozick who recently was selected as one of 10
    1-4  finalists in the 36th annual San Antonio Express-News Outstanding
    1-5  Teen Contest; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The San Antonio Express-News designed the
    1-7  Outstanding Teen Contest in 1957 and has continued the tradition
    1-8  of honoring 10 high school seniors who represent the highest
    1-9  standards of citizenship; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Candidates are selected for demonstrating
   1-11  excellence in a variety of fields and for demonstrating character
   1-12  and versatility; included in the criteria are consistency in academic
   1-13  achievement, leadership ability, participation in extracurricular
   1-14  school activities, community service, and other exceptional
   1-15  qualities; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A senior at Clark High School, Stefani is well known
   1-17  for her outstanding work in the community and has already played an
   1-18  active role in city government; she serves as president of the
   1-19  San Antonio Youth Commission which is an advisory board to the
   1-20  mayor and city council on youth-related issues and programs; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, She also serves on the Greater San Antonio Crime
   1-22  Prevention Commission and the Northside School District's
   1-23  United States Government Civic Involvement Program Commission;
    2-1  she is a member of the United Way Youth Task Force; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, An exceptionally talented student, Stefani is a
    2-3  member of the National Honor Society, the gifted and talented
    2-4  program, and Mu Alpha Theta; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Though still in high school, she views her role in
    2-6  helping the community and influencing city leaders as a serious
    2-7  responsibility; Stefani plans to attend The University of Texas
    2-8  at Austin and major in environmental law; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Stefani Chozick for her
   2-11  exceptional accomplishments and extend congratulations to her
   2-12  for earning the position of finalist in this year's Outstanding
   2-13  Teen Contest; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
   2-15  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
