    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Oliver Leroy Peterson
    1-5        WHEREAS, The family of Oliver Leroy Peterson mourned his
    1-6  death on May 13, 1993; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Born in Georgetown on January 23, 1926, Mr. Peterson
    1-8  married Betty Jo on November 10, 1951; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Peterson was a lifelong
   1-10  member of Palm Valley Lutheran Church in Round Rock where he was
   1-11  baptized, confirmed, and married; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, He accepted a position with the Internal Revenue
   1-13  Service in 1955 and retired after 35 years of outstanding service;
   1-14  and
   1-15        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and good judgment will be greatly
   1-16  missed and remembered with gratitude by those who lived and worked
   1-17  with him; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This respected gentleman's varied and notable
   1-19  achievements contributed to the development and progress of his
   1-20  community; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A loving and devoted son, husband, and father,
   1-22  Mr. Peterson leaves behind him a legacy of love and compassion; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Known for his sense of humor and quick wit,
    2-1  Mr. Peterson was a generous friend who will be missed by his many
    2-2  friends; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Enjoying the companionship of others, Mr. Peterson
    2-4  was a member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge AF FM 456; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, An avid sports fan, Mr. Peterson had been active
    2-6  with The University of Texas and Austin Independent School
    2-7  District's athletic departments for 30 years; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Highly esteemed by his fellow citizens, Mr. Peterson
    2-9  was a man of high principles and integrity; his passing is mourned
   2-10  by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
   2-13  of his family:  his wife, Betty Jo; his daughters, Pam Dyer and
   2-14  Rebecca Jo Peterson; his mother, Alma Peterson; his sister,
   2-15  Nell Marie Brogren; and his brother, Howard Leon Peterson; and, be
   2-16  it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-18  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-19  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-20  in memory of Oliver Leroy Peterson.
