    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  join with the citizens of Port Arthur in paying tribute to
    1-4  Coach Bennie Clay who is retiring after 25 years of devoted
    1-5  service with the Port Arthur Independent School District; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, In recognition of his notable contributions to the
    1-7  school district, Mr. Clay is being honored on May 27, 1993, by the
    1-8  teachers and administrators of Sam Houston Elementary School; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Through the years, he has dedicated his life to
   1-10  children, skillfully teaching and counseling students in a firm,
   1-11  fair, and loving manner; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, An elementary physical education teacher,
   1-13  Bennie Clay has been a positive influence in the lives of his
   1-14  pupils, and he has instilled in them a respect for a healthy body
   1-15  through exercise and proper nutrition; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, His gracious manner and professional knowledge
   1-17  have earned him the respect and admiration of his students and
   1-18  associates and he is loved throughout the entire community; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The schoolchildren of the State of Texas have
   1-20  benefitted immeasurably from the wisdom and expertise of this
   1-21  illustrious educator who has conscientiously discharged his duties
   1-22  in an exemplary manner; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Coach Bennie Clay for his 25 years
    2-2  of exceptional public service to the citizens of Port Arthur; and,
    2-3  be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-5  Coach Clay as an expression of the appreciation and high regard
    2-6  of the Texas Senate.
