    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                     Clement "Clem" Wallace Barron
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Houston in mourning the loss of Clement "Clem" Wallace Barron
    1-7  who died suddenly on May 4, 1993, at the age of 68; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The esteemed gentleman will be remembered for his
    1-9  dedication to his family, his friends, and his country; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Mr. Barron was born in Center, Texas, on
   1-11  October 4, 1924, and graduated from The University of Texas
   1-12  Architectural Engineering School in June, 1950; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. Barron served his
   1-14  country with valor as a 19-year-old pilot flying P-38's in the
   1-15  Pacific Theater; for meritorious achievement while participating
   1-16  in an aerial fight, he was awarded the Air Medal; for other heroic
   1-17  service he was awarded five Bronze Stars and received the American
   1-18  Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, and the Victory
   1-19  Medal; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, He married Sybil Haltom in 1951 and the devoted
   1-21  couple provided a loving home for their daughter, Patsy; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A quiet, gentle family man, Mr. Barron was also
   1-23  an enthusiastic sportsman who spent his leisure hours hunting and
    2-1  fishing; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, His dedication to his profession and his gracious
    2-3  manner earned him the respect and admiration of those who knew and
    2-4  loved him; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and
    2-6  commitment that will be cherished by his family, his friends, and
    2-7  his associates; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
   2-10  of Clem Barron:  his wife, Sybil; his daughter and son-in-law,
   2-11  Patsy and Jesse Doucette; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law,
   2-12  Randall and Deborah Reagan; his granddaughter, Tammy R. Blatt; his
   2-13  great-grandchildren, Randall M. Reagan, Jr., and Erin Blatt; and
   2-14  his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Dub Warren; and, be it
   2-15  further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-17  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-18  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
   2-19  so in memory of Clement "Clem" Wallace Barron.
