    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
    1-3  who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is truly
    1-4  a memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gregorio Pina, Jr., of Laredo celebrated
    1-6  their golden wedding anniversary on May 30, 1993; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Gregorio and Maria Santos Idrogo met in Laredo and
    1-8  were married on May 30, 1943, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church; in
    1-9  1948, they moved to 4017 Juarez Avenue, where they currently live;
   1-10  and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pina take tremendous pride in
   1-12  the close and loving relationship they share today with their
   1-13  nine children, Dr. Gregorio Pina III, Edna Gloria, Mario Jose,
   1-14  Maria Del Rosario, Francisco Xavier, Gerardo Luis, Rolando,
   1-15  Isabella, and Roberto, their 16 grandchildren, and their four
   1-16  great-grandchildren; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably since
   1-18  their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Pina have steadfastly embraced
   1-19  traditional family and moral values; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pina shared their happiness with
   1-21  their family and friends at a reception held in their honor on
   1-22  June 6, 1993; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Gregorio and Maria have grown
    2-1  stronger as together they have experienced the joys and sorrows
    2-2  of everyday life; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Pina have shared
    2-4  a strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and
    2-5  cherished family memories built on a foundation of mutual love,
    2-6  trust, and support; their life together has been a source of joy
    2-7  and inspiration for a great many people; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-9  73rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Gregorio Pina, Jr.,
   2-10  on the momentous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and
   2-11  extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and,
   2-12  be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  Mr. and Mrs. Pina as an expression of high regard from the
   2-15  Texas Senate.
