                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 73rd
    1-2  Legislature, Regular Session, 1993, That Senate Rule 12.03 be
    1-3  suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the
    1-4  conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on Senate
    1-5  Bill No. 532 to consider and take action on the following specific
    1-6  matters:
    1-7        1.  Senate Rule 12.03(4) is suspended to permit the committee
    1-8  to add by amendment Section 507.027, Government Code, to read as
    1-9  follows:
   1-10        Sec. 507.027.  INSPECTIONS.  The board shall adopt rules
   1-11  relating to inspections by the department of state jail felony
   1-12  facility construction projects.
   1-13        EXPLANATION.   This change is necessary to provide for an
   1-14  inspection mechanism for state jail felony facility construction
   1-15  projects.
   1-16        2.  Senate Rule 12.03(1) is suspended to permit the committee
   1-17  to amend Section 10, Article 42.131, Code of Criminal Procedure, by
   1-18  adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
   1-19        (d)  A department may acquire, hold title to, and own real
   1-20  property for the purpose of establishing a community corrections
   1-21  facility or a state jail felony facility.
   1-22        EXPLANATION.   This change is necessary to permit community
   1-23  supervision and corrections departments, authorized elsewhere in
   1-24  the law to operate community corrections facilities and state jail
    2-1  felony facilities, to own the real property on which those
    2-2  facilities are located.
    2-3        3.  Senate Rule 12.03(1) is suspended to permit the committee
    2-4  to amend Section 8.01 of the bill to read as follows:
    2-5        SECTION 8.01.  In addition to other amounts appropriated for
    2-6  the fiscal biennium ending August 31, 1995, the balance of the
    2-7  economic stabilization fund, but not to exceed $72,000,000, is
    2-8  appropriated to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for:
    2-9              (1)  the operation of additional capacity; and
   2-10              (2)  increased supervision for probation.
   2-11        EXPLANATION.   This change is necessary to ensure that the
   2-12  appropriation made by this section does not exceed the balance of
   2-13  the economic stabilization fund.
