    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Aulsie Ray Sims
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of Aulsie Ray Sims on April 29, 1993,
    1-6  represented a great personal loss to his loved ones and many
    1-7  friends across the State of Texas; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born on October 4, 1909, in the Lost Prairie
    1-9  Community, Mr. Sims was the son of H. H. and Lurah Easterling Sims;
   1-10  he married Ethel Wadlington in Mexia on March 26, 1932; they had
   1-11  been married for 61 years; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Sims graduated from Mexia High School
   1-13  in 1930 and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree
   1-14  from Texas Tech University; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A vital part of his community, Mr. Sims
   1-16  enjoyed a career of public service that spanned 40 years; he
   1-17  was a dedicated teacher and principal for the public schools
   1-18  and spent 28 years as a caseworker and supervisor for the
   1-19  State Department of Human Services; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman was a devout Christian
   1-21  and a member of the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, This respected gentleman's varied and notable
   1-23  achievements contributed greatly to the growth and progress of
    2-1  his community; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, His forthright manner and professional knowledge
    2-3  have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and good judgment will be
    2-5  greatly missed and remembered with gratitude by those whose
    2-6  lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
    2-9  the members of his family:  his wife, Ethel; his daughter,
   2-10  Bobbie Jean Sims Chapman; his granddaughters, Mitzie Tipton and
   2-11  Kelly Chapman; and his four great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-13  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-14  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
   2-15  day, it do so in memory of Aulsie Ray Sims.
