    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Pat Pittman of Mexia, Texas, was named outstanding
    1-3  club member of the year by the Mexia Woman's Friday Club, and the
    1-4  Texas Senate is pleased to express its congratulations to her for
    1-5  this prestigious honor; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Admired for her outstanding leadership and exemplary
    1-7  contributions, Mrs. Pittman has received the gratitude of the
    1-8  citizens of her community; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, She has graciously volunteered countless hours to
   1-10  numerous organizations that benefit the citizens of Mexia; a member
   1-11  of the United Charities board, Mrs. Pittman has also served as a
   1-12  Girl Scout leader and bloodmobile volunteer and on parent-teacher
   1-13  associations at the local, county, and state levels as president
   1-14  and vice-president; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A tireless worker, Pat Pittman has contributed
   1-16  her time and talents to many; she taught swimming lessons for the
   1-17  Rotary Club for 25 years and is a member of the General Mexia
   1-18  Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, A graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor University where
   1-20  she earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, education,
   1-21  and social work, Mrs. Pittman taught nine years in public schools
   1-22  and was a social worker at Mexia State School; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Office manager for Pittman Optometric Clinic, she
    2-1  has been a member of the Texas Optometric Association Auxiliary
    2-2  since 1953 and has served as its president; she has also held
    2-3  various offices in the American Optometric Association Auxiliary
    2-4  and was its president in 1986-1987; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Pat Pittman is a devoted mother and grandmother
    2-6  to her daughter, Laurie, and her son, Wesley, and her four
    2-7  grandchildren; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Her gracious manner and warm personality have earned
    2-9  her the respect and friendship of all who know her; now, therefore,
   2-10  be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Pat Pittman for her significant
   2-13  contributions to her city and her state; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this
   2-15  notable individual as an expression of the appreciation and high
   2-16  regard of the Texas Senate.
