    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, It is indeed an honor for the Texas Senate to
    1-3  recognize Steve T. Parmley for his many years of notable service
    1-4  to the citizens of East Texas; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The retired dairyman has faithfully served the
    1-6  community with unfailing devotion and integrity all of his adult
    1-7  life; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, An outstanding gentleman and a highly capable
    1-9  public servant, Mr. Parmley has worked tirelessly as a director of
   1-10  the Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative Board of Directors for 33
   1-11  years, 22 of those as an officer; he has served with distinction as
   1-12  president for 11 years; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, His gracious manner and professional knowledge have
   1-14  earned him the respect and admiration of his associates; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, In addition to his outstanding work as president of
   1-16  the Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative, Mr. Parmley has devoted
   1-17  his time and energies to the Northeast Texas Electric Cooperative
   1-18  Board of Directors for nine years and to the Tex-La Electric
   1-19  Cooperative of Texas, Incorporated, Board of Directors for 12
   1-20  years; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The citizens of East Texas are truly fortunate to
   1-22  have the benefit of the expertise and dedication of this exceptional
   1-23  Texan; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Mr. Parmley has lived in Nacogdoches County all
    2-2  of his life and attended the Central Heights School; his long and
    2-3  happy marriage to Jean Birdwell Parmley has lasted 45 years; the
    2-4  devoted couple are the proud parents of three daughters, Lynda Lee,
    2-5  Diane Brock, and Sharon Martin, and the beloved grandparents of
    2-6  four granddaughters; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, A dedicated Christian layman, Mr. Parmley is a
    2-8  member of the Mahl Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon; and
    2-9        WHEREAS, The State of Texas has benefitted immeasurably from
   2-10  the exceptional contributions of this remarkable individual; now,
   2-11  therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-13  73rd Legislature, hereby express its gratitude to Steve T. Parmley
   2-14  for his many years of devoted public service to the citizens of
   2-15  East Texas; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
   2-17  as a token of the admiration and high regard of the Texas Senate.
