No. 1122 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in 1-3 recognizing Anita Correa for her many years of loyal service as a 1-4 schoolteacher and as an adult education teacher in our state; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A talented educator, Mrs. Correa taught in 1-6 the Raymondville Independent School District for 32 years from 1-7 1955 through 1987; she has also spent many years teaching adult 1-8 education classes to individuals needing to learn to read, write, 1-9 and speak English; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Anita Correa was born in 1933 in San Perlita to 1-11 Donato and Isabel Correa, a pioneer family from Willacy County; 1-12 she graduated from San Perlita High School and from Texas Woman's 1-13 University in 1954 and has three children, Lamar, David, and 1-14 Gabriel Cantu; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Over the years, innumerable students have 1-16 benefitted from Mrs. Correa's skillful teaching methods, her 1-17 sincere concern for the individual, and her wise counsel and 1-18 encouragement; and 1-19 WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful instructor, Anita Correa 1-20 instilled in her students an appreciation for hard work and a love 1-21 of challenge and learning; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Anita Correa for her many 2-1 contributions to the educational system of Texas and extend best 2-2 wishes to her for the future; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-5 _____________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the 2-8 above Resolution was adopted by 2-9 the Senate on May 28, 1993. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
