No. 1137 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, Mr. and Mrs. William Cook of 1-3 Azle, Texas, placed much faith and trust in the future which 1-4 have been amply rewarded for they recently celebrated their 1-5 50th wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Jean Dell Elbourn and William Cook were married 1-7 on May 22, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during the 1-9 intervening years, yet Mr. and Mrs. Cook have clung steadfastly 1-10 to traditional family and moral values; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Cook have grown 1-12 ever stronger in love and devotion as together they have experienced 1-13 the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cook have been blessed with a 1-15 wonderful family: their children, Cheryl and Rouel Rothenberger, 1-16 William and Diane Cook, Paul and Judy Cook, and Frances Dee McGuire, 1-17 and their eight grandchildren; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The love and respect they share are shining 1-19 examples to all who are fortunate enough to know them; now, 1-20 therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-22 73rd Legislature, hereby join with the relatives and friends 1-23 of Mr. and Mrs. William Cook in extending them best wishes and 2-1 congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be it 2-2 further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 this distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion. 2-5 _____________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the 2-8 above Resolution was adopted by 2-9 the Senate on May 28, 1993. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
