No. 1164 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, That 1-2 Senate Rule 12.03, Rules of the Senate, 73rd Legislature, is 1-3 suspended, as provided by Senate Rule 12.08, to the extent 1-4 described in this Resolution, to enable the conference committee 1-5 appointed to adjust the differences between the House and Senate 1-6 versions of H.B. No. 2223, relating to the dedication of certain 1-7 funds for the use of the Texas Commission on the Arts, to 1-8 successfully conclude the committee's deliberations, by authorizing 1-9 the conferees to consider and take action on the following specific 1-10 matters: 1-11 (1) Senate Rule 12.03(3) is suspended to permit the 1-12 committee to add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to 1-13 the bill to read as follows: 1-14 SECTION 7. (a) There is hereby appropriated to the Texas 1-15 Cultural Endowment Fund established in this Act from the general 1-16 revenue fund for the fiscal biennium ending August 31, 1995, the 1-17 amount of $2.2 million. 1-18 (b) The speaker of the house of representatives and the 1-19 lieutenant governor are directed to appoint a joint interim 1-20 committee to study the options available to provide a dedicated 1-21 source of funding to the Texas Cultural Endowment Fund. The 1-22 committee shall make a full report of its findings and 1-23 recommendations to the 74th Legislature when it convenes in 2-1 January, 1995. 2-2 Explanation: This action is necessary to provide a source of 2-3 funding for the Texas Commission on the Arts, established in H.B. 2-4 No. 2223, and to provide for the creation of a study committee to 2-5 study the options available to provide a dedicated source of 2-6 funding for the Texas Cultural Endowment Fund. 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the 2-10 above Resolution was adopted by 2-11 the Senate on May 30, 1993. 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate
