    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Blinn College, The Junior College District of
    1-3  Washington County, has the distinction of being home to the
    1-4  National Champion Junior College Track and Field Team; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This is the seventh consecutive year that
    1-6  the team has won both the Indoor and Outdoor Titles, giving
    1-7  Blinn College 14 consecutive national championships; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Coach Steve Silvey has distinguished himself
    1-9  as the most successful coach in the history of the National
   1-10  Junior College Athletic Association by winning 12 consecutive
   1-11  national titles; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, The Buccaneers have once again proven themselves
   1-13  to be one of the top collegiate track and field programs in the
   1-14  United States; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, These young athletes and their coaches
   1-16  have honored themselves, their college, the City of Brenham,
   1-17  Washington County, and the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-19  73rd Legislature, hereby commend and applaud the Blinn College
   1-20  National Champion Junior College Track and Field Team for its
   1-21  truly remarkable accomplishments over the past 12 years; and,
   1-22  be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-1  these superb athletes and their coaches as an expression of the
    2-2  admiration of the Texas Senate with best wishes for future success
    2-3  in all their endeavors.
