No. 1203 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Edward James Rivas 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of Arlington, Texas, in mourning the untimely loss of 1-7 Edward James Rivas who died April 23, 1993, at the age of 30; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Born in Corpus Christi in 1963, Mr. Rivas had lived 1-9 in Arlington for eight years; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He attended Roy Miller High School and graduated 1-11 from Del Mar College in 1983 and The University of Texas at Austin 1-12 in 1985; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A dedicated and diligent worker, he was a market 1-14 research analyst for Pearle Vision, Incorporated; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A faithful Christian, he was a member of the 1-16 Catholic Church; and 1-17 WHEREAS, He will be remembered by all who knew him as a 1-18 devoted friend and for his love of art and classical music; and 1-19 WHEREAS, His wise counsel and good judgment will be sorely 1-20 missed and forever gratefully remembered by those who knew him; 1-21 now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to his 2-1 bereaved family: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel R. Rivas; 2-2 his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gabriel Rivas III and 2-3 Mary Lou Rivas, David R. Rivas and Julie Rivas, Robert C. Rivas, 2-4 and Joseph A. Rivas; his sister and brother-in-law, 2-5 Yvette M. DeLaCruz and Gabriel DeLaCruz; his maternal grandmother, 2-6 Mrs. Paulita M.
