                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Currently, a judge cannot refer a teenager to teen court without
collecting state court costs. The program is supported by
municipalities and school districts with no costs to the state.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 330 exempts a defendant referred to teen court
from state court costs.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
