                                                         05-16-95
                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Currently, military vehicles which have been restored for
exhibitions, club activities, and parades are required to be
registered under motor vehicle registration laws as passenger cars
or trucks subject to state inspection and safety responsibilities.
Most antique military vehicles are not used in regular
transportation and do not have a means of displaying such
registration.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 1225 sets forth exemptions for certain parade and
antique military vehicles regarding inspection and registration.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
