                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Currently, sheriff's departments in counties with a population of
2,000,000 or more maintain a permanent personnel file on each
employee.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 1652 requires the sheriff or the sheriff's
designee, in a county with a population of 100,000 or more, to
maintain a permanent personnel file on each sheriff's department
employee.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
