                                                         04-27-95
                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

It is assumed that 150 full time equivalent students would take
courses at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and University of
Houston-Victoria instead of a community college under the
provisions of this bill. The cost to the state of funding a full
time equivalent student at a general academic teaching institution
is about $2,400 more than the cost to the state of funding a
student at a community college.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 2066 amends the enrollment requirements of the
University of Houston at the Clear Lake and Victoria campuses.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
