BACKGROUND

Chapter 43, Local Government Code is entitled "Municipal
Annexation" and contains the general authority for cities to annex
property, including procedures, the authority to annex special
districts or special types of property, procedures for
disannexation, and the authority to annex for limited purposes.
Subchapter G, Chapter 43, Local Government Code, contains the
provisions regulating disannexation. Subchapter G contains no
provisions regulating the width of property disannexed by a city.

PURPOSE

This bill would require cities disannexing roadways to disannex a

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly
grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer,
department, agency, or institution.
