                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Currently, many navigation district contracts and sales of surplus
land result in frivolous lawsuits that are based on small
technicalities concerning formalities.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 2177 validates and conforms the acts,
proceedings, commissioners, bonds, and obligations of navigation
districts.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
