                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Funds were appropriated during the 73rd Legislature to the Texas
Department of Public Safety to build a new headquarters building in
San Angelo. Plans were made to transfer ownership of the old
building to the City of San Angelo, but the legislation enacted
failed to provide specific statutory authority to complete the
transfer.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 2376 authorizes the transfer of certain real
property from the Texas Department of Public Safety to the City of
San Angelo.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
