                              Senate Committee Report (Unamended)
BACKGROUND

Currently, fingerprinting for the purposes of identification is a
free service by law enforcement agencies or any political
subdivision of the state.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 3017 authorizes an agency to charge for
fingerprinting.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.

fingerprint records unless specifically requested to do so by the
person requesting the service.
