BACKGROUND

Current law requires all physicians to pay an annual registration
fee of $300 which is deposited to certain accounts.

PURPOSE

As proposed, H.B. 3116 exempts retired physicians who perform
voluntary charity care from annual registration fees.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or
agency.
