BILL ANALYSIS S.B. 916 By: Wentworth (Kuempel) 05-04-95 Committee Report (Unamended) BACKGROUND Under current law, the Comal County Juvenile Board (board) is composed of the county judge and the judge of the 207th District Court. The current county court-at-law judge of Comal County has experience in juvenile cases and is willing to serve on the board. PURPOSE As proposed, SB 916 provides that the Comal County Juvenile Board is composed of the judge of the County Court-at-Law of Comal County, in addition to the county judge and the judge of the 207th District Court. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or institution. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 152.0521(a), Human Resources Code, to provide that the Comal County Juvenile Board is composed of the county judge, the judge of the County Court-at-Law of Comal County, and the judge of the 207th District Court.
