BILL ANALYSIS S.C.R. 87 By: Brown (Hilbert) 05-09-95 Committee Report (Unamended) BACKGROUND Little has been done to find a cause or cure for chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome, a medical term used to describe a group of symptoms that includes debilitating fatigue, fever, depression, and a reduced ability to undertake normal daily activities or to function productively. PURPOSE S.C.R. 87 calls for the 74th Legislature to memorialize the Congress of the United States to increase federal funding for research relating to chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome. SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE ACTION S.C.R. 87 was considered by the Public Health Committee in a public hearing on May 9, 1995. The resolution was reported favorably without amendment, with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed, by a record vote of 5 AYES, 0 NAYS, 0 PNV, and 4 ABSENT.
